How to Choose the Right Blanket for Labour Camp Accommodation in the UAE

Furnishing a labour camp with the right blankets isn’t just about ticking a box — the wrong choice means complaints, early replacements, and wasted budget. Here’s what actually matters when you’re ordering in bulk.

1. Fabric type

Acrylic blankets are lightweight, affordable, and easy to launder — a solid default for most camps. Raschel and embossed fabrics offer a softer, slightly more premium feel at a similar price point. Fleece is the lightest option and works well in milder months or for buyers on a tighter budget.

2. Weight and warmth

Blanket weight is usually listed in kg or lbs, and it’s the clearest indicator of warmth. Lighter blankets (around 1.2–2kg) suit warmer months or air-conditioned rooms, while heavier 1-ply and 2-ply blankets (3kg and up) are better for cooler winter nights or poorly insulated accommodation.

3. Durability under frequent washing

Camp bedding gets washed often and needs to hold its shape and colour over many cycles. A tighter weave and consistent stitching around the edges are good signs — ask your supplier how the blanket performs after repeated washing before committing to a large order.

4. Sizing

Standard single blankets run around 150–170cm x 220–230cm, which fits most camp bed frames. Confirm your bed frame dimensions before ordering at scale, since a mismatch across hundreds of units is costly to fix.

5. Bulk pricing and lead time

Per-unit cost typically drops as order quantity increases. Ask your supplier for tiered pricing based on realistic quantities (50, 200, 500+ units) and confirm dispatch timelines up front, especially if you’re furnishing new accommodation on a deadline.

Quick checklist:

  • Confirm bed frame size before ordering
  • Match blanket weight to season and room insulation
  • Ask about durability after repeated washing
  • Get tiered bulk pricing for your expected quantity
  • Confirm delivery lead time for large orders
